Wolverhampton Wanderers talisman Ruben Neves is reportedly negotiating a move to Premier League giants Liverpool this summer.

Ruben Neves appeared to put an end to speculation linking him with a big money move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers last week, telling the Express and Star that he was keen to stay at Molineux for the club’s first season back in the Premier League.

Portuguese international Neves has been a revelation since he moved to the Black Country from Porto last summer for a Championship record fee of £15.8 million, according to the BBC, with some even claiming that he is the best player ever seen in the second tier of English football.

And that has led to speculation that Neves could move on after just one season, with reports of a move to Liverpool particularly rife. That appeared to just be paper talk at the time, but FourFourTwo have now suggested otherwise.

Well-connected Brazilian journalist Marcus Alves, who was at the forefront of the initial reports that linked Neves to that shock move to Wolves last summer, believes that the 21-year-old has an ongoing dialogue with Liverpool, and can join to the Anfield giants this summer if the price is right – despite publicaly committing his future to the Old Gold

Neves, who is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, is far away from agreeing a deal with Liverpool, but FourFourTwo believe his entourage have been informed that a deal could advance very quickly in the next few weeks.

And, in another twist, the report adds that Anderson Talisca, another Mendes client, could move to Molineux to replace Neves despite playing as a more creative midfielder during his spells at Benfica and now Besiktas.

Besiktas have the option to sign Talisca permanently this summer for £18 million after two years on loan in Turkey, but there are concerns about how that fee will be paid. And Miliyet recently claimed that Wolves could muscle in and snap up the Brazilian, who they were first linked with in 2016.

Expect an interesting summer at Wolves, then.
