Adrian Balboa failed to make a single Championship appearance in one year at Leeds United – now he’s reportedly leaving Elland Road

Try as we might, we just cannot describe Adrian Balboa’s spell at Leeds United as ‘rocky’. It’s just not been that eventful.
The young striker arrived at Elland Road amid plenty of excitement last summer. Balboa had been playing for the Barcelona-based outfit U.D. Unificacion Bellvitge and outscored every other player in his age group, according to Sport.
The 20-year-old Balboa, however, failed to make a first-team appearance for Leeds with his game time restricted to the U23s.
And it seems that the Spaniard is now set to leave without ever playing at Elland Road. According to Diari de Terrassa, Balboa is closing in on a return to his homeland.
It is reported that Terrassa FC, who play in the third division of Spanish football, are set to sign Balboa and make him the number nine that the club has been chasing all summer long.

Terrassa are based in Catalonia and therefore could be a tempting option for a player who grew up in Badalona, a town to the north east of Barcelona.
Plenty of Leeds fans, however, will be disappointed to see the highly-rated Balboa leave before they were ever given the chance to watch him in action. But the fact that he may be heading to the Spanish third division suggests that he perhaps wasn’t quite to for Championship level football.
