Mousa Dembele looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League but will Serie A be his destination?

Mousa Dembele looks to have played his final game for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old Belgian has been an integral part of Spurs’ emergence as one of the Premier League’s most feared and attractive sides under Mauricio Pochettino since he arrived in North London from Fulham in 2012.

But with his contract set to expire next summer, it seems that Dembele’s dominance at the centre of Spurs’ midfield is over.

The experienced play-maker has indicated that he would like a fresh start and the Mirror states that Tottenham are now prepared to sell with a number of possible replacements, including Bryan Cristante and Andre Gomes, lined up.

And Alfredo Pedulla is reporting that AC Milan are at the front of the queue for Dembele, but appear nowhere nearer to bringing the former AZ Alkmaar ace to the San Siro.

It is understood that Milan, who are facing potential FFP sanctions for missing out on the Champions League, want a physically imposing central midfielder and have made a number of attempts to sign Dembele. All, however, have failed so far.

They have now reportedly turned their attention to Fiorentina’s Milan Badelj, who is keen on a move to the Rossineri, and Manchester United powerhouse Marouanne Fellaini instead.

This is not to say Dembele will not end up in Italy, however. Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed the Tottenham player’s agent has held talks with new Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Napoli, who finished second behind Juventus last season, will need a new midfielder with Jorginho and Marek Hamsik both linked with the exit.
