Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Dominic Iorfa started as Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers took on Aston Villa in an U23 clash.

The scouts were out in force as Wolves’ U23s took on Aston Villa on Monday night – and with good reason. Because if your club is one the look out for a promising young centre-back, there are a couple at Molineux who look set to be available heading into the January transfer window.
Both Dominic Iorfa and Ethan Ebanks-Landell have slipped well down the pecking order at Wolves since Nuno Espirito Santo took over in 2017 and featured in the goalless draw against Villa at Telford New Bucks Head.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the defensive duo are surplus to requirements and not part of Nuno’s first-team plans. As a result, they are likely to be on their way out of Wolves with the winter window just a few weeks away.

The report adds that a dozen lower league clubs, including Luton, Charlton Athletic, Mansfield and Northampton Town, all had scouts in attendance with Iorfa (above) and Ebanks-Landell (below) understood to be the reason for their visit.
Iorfa, an England U21 international, has not been included in any of Wolves’ Premier League match day squads this season while Ebanks-Landell hardly enhanced his reputation during a difficult loan spell at MK Dons in League One last season.
