Huddersfield Town could reportedly bring Monaco’s Adama Diakhaby to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

Monaco's French forward Adama Diakhaby celebrates after scoring a goal during the French L1 football match Monaco vs Nice on January 16, 2018 at the 'Louis II Stadium' in Monaco.

Adama Diakhaby is one of the few youngsters who moved to Monaco and did not take his career to a new level.

While the likes of Bernando Silva, Fabinho and Thomas Lemar thrived in the principality, Diakhaby has cut a frustrated figure since his £9 million move from Rennes a year ago.

The 22-year-old started just 10 of his 22 Ligue 1 appearances last season, scoring twice and setting up three more goals. He found himself behind the likes of Lemar, Rony Lopes and Keita Balde in Leonardo Jardim’s pecking order.

And Foot Mercato claims that Huddersfield Town have offered Diakhaby a lifeline. It is understood that David Wagner’s side are interested in the speedy winger, who would love the chance to test himself at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Terriers survived their first ever Premier League campaign by the skin of their teeth last season despite scoring fewer goals (28) than any other side in the division bar Swansea City. Diakhaby, then, would add some much needed thrust and creativity going forward.

The Frenchman scored four goals in just three league starts for Rennes in the 2016/17 season.

Huddersfield have already signed eight players on permanent deals this summer and Diakhaby would challenge the likes of Tom Ince and Ramadan Sobhi for a place in the XI. Huddersfield have signed one player from Monaco this summer in defender Terrence Kongolo.
