Tottenham Hotspur sold Nacer Chadli to West Bromwich Albion for half the price they paid to sign Moussa Sissoko.

Mauricio Pochettino is hardly lacking in talented, quick footed attacking midfielders with an eye for goal, after all, and even his natural pace and ability to run in behind high defensive lines is replicated and perhaps bettered by Heung-min Son.
However, in hindsight, it feels harsh in the extreme that he was farmed out of White Hart Lane to make room for a player who has mustered a grand total of six Premier League starts and, according to the Daily Mirror, could be sold on the cheap just a year after arriving for a club record £30million.
And while few Spurs fans would argue against the exit of a player whose performances have been more 3pm Saturday afternoon for Newcastle rather than Euro 2016 final, you wonder whether Pochettino could live to regret sanctioning Chadli’s exit.
After all, Tottenham faltered late on last season and, with the same crop of players featuring in almost every starting XI thanks to the lack of quality in reserve, it would be little surprise if tiredness was to set in again.
Furthermore, Chadli has arguably performed better in his debut season at West Brom than he did in all but one of his Premier League campaigns with Spurs.
Netting five goals and creating five more, he has offered a timely reminder of his speed, precision and underrated finishing ability in Baggies colours. And although opportunities in the starting XI would not have arrived so frequently at White Hart Lane, he would at least have offered Pochettino options off the bench.
Sissoko, who has not started a league game for three months and has even been omitted from the match day squad on occasion, has only increased the over reliance on the starting XI.
