Raul Jimenez has an excellent record against the Premier League top six and he will be hoping to score when Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Arsenal.
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has admitted that he is concerned for the Gunners defence as they prepare come up against the ‘brilliant’ Wolverhampton Wanderers frontman Raul Jimenez this weekend, speaking to Alan Brazil on talkSPORT (1 October, 8.30am).
The Mexican international already has ten goals in 20 games in 2018/19 and has a fine record against the so-called ‘big six’.
He found the net twice against Tottenham and Chelsea, and once against Liverpool, during his debut season at Molineux. And while Jimenez might not have got himself on the score sheet when Arsenal arrived in the Black Country in April, he did play a major role as Wolves thrashed Unai Emery’s side 3-1.
Given how slack Arsenal have been at the back in recent months with David Luiz and Sokratis looking like an accident waiting to happen, it is no wonder Parlour is tipping the one-time Atletico Madrid and Benfica target-man to cause a few problems at the Emirates tomorrow.
“(Wolves) are a dangerous side, they really are dangerous. Going forward they are very good and Jimenez has been brilliant. I really like him,” said Parlour, who still fancies his former side to secure a narrow win.
“They will try and take advantage of the back four. They do concede goals, Arsenal. It will probably be Sokratis and Luiz at the back.”
Arsenal’s defenders have toiled against far less gifted centre-forwards than Jimenez this season and it would be no surprise if the £30 million man inspired another famous win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side against one of the Premier League’s bonafide giants.
