Nottingham Forest’s former Championship midfielder Andreas Bouchalakis scored for Olympiakos against Burnley in Thursday’s Europa League qualifier.

It just never really worked out for Andreas Bouchalakis at Nottingham Forest.
The Greek midfielder could not have enjoyed a better start to life at the City Ground, scoring two stunning goals on his debut in a 4-3 win against Brentford on the opening game of the 2017/18 season.
But Bouchalakis never scored for Forest again. And he made just 10 more starts in the Championship, losing his place once Aitor Karanka brought in Ben Watson and Jack Colback during the January transfer window.
Once his debut season was over, the 25-year-old left with minimal fuss. He returned to former club Olympiakos, an exit that was rather overshadowed by the many exciting arrivals at the East Midlands.

But while Karanka’s new look Forest are struggling for fluidity, winning just one of their first four Championship games, Bouchalakis’ second spell at Olympiakos is going rather well.
He has started all three of their Europa League qualifiers so far and scored in Thursday’s 3-1 win against Burnley in Piraeus. Latching onto a terrific free-kick from Man of the Match Constantinos Fortounis, Bouchalakis glanced a sublime header into the far corner.
He may not be a Forest player any more but his East Midlands fan group are pleased to see him doing so well. Most of them anyway.
