Steven Naismith has scored 14 goals for Hearts this season but does he deserve one last chance at Rangers?

Since Steven Gerrard took over at Ibrox, Rangers have shown no qualms about bringing back some of their stars of yesteryear. Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Kyle Lafferty are all enjoying second spells at the Glasgow giants, after all.
So what is to stop Rangers from handing Steven Naismith his dream return as he enters the final few years of his career?
According to the Express, Naismith is due to become a free agent in the summer and, although he is in talks over a renewal with Hearts, nothing has been agreed just yet.
Considering how impressive the veteran Scot has been since returning north of the border, scoring 14 goals in just 27 games for Craig Levein’s side, he would still have plenty to offer a Rangers side whose title hopes have diminished after a number of disappointing performances, epitomised by an often toothless attack.

An intelligent and creative player who thrives between the lines, Rangers don’t have anyone on their books quite like Naismith.
The Scottish Sun reported last year that the former Norwich City ace was desperate to return to Ibrox and would have even played for the club for free. Over 12 months on, maybe Rangers should seriously consider his offer.
