James Tavernier has been linked with a move away from Scottish Premiership giants Rangers with Championship strugglers Sunderland interested.

It has been another busy transfer window for Rangers and there are no suggestions yet that the door has shut at Ibrox.

The Glasgow giants have brought in six new faces and manager Graeme Murty admitted after the 2-1 win against Ross County on Sunday, secured by a first goal from Jason Cummings, that there may still be more moves before the month is out, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

Although Rangers may be concerned by the prospect of key players leaving with two days of the window remaining.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to the Daily Record (live blog, 8.28am), Hull City have watched midfielder Josh Windass in action, the 24-year-old having recently been the subject of £500,000 bids from Leeds United and Preston North End.

And the Scottish Sun states that James Tavernier is also attracting interest despite seemingly confirming that he would stay at the club for the foreseeable future, as reported by the Glasgow Evening Times.

The swashbuckling right-back has a contract at Ibrox until the summer of 2019 but was the subject of interest earlier in the transfer window.

The Mail claimed that Sunderland were keen on the one-time Newcastle United youngster, who has scored four goals and set up seven from right-back this season and would be a definite upgrade on Billy Jones or Adam Matthews.

But with the Black Cats so far failing to sell any of their fringe players, it seems unlikely that they have the funds to prize Tavernier away from Rangers, with Murty stating that the club will not sell players on the cheap.
