Barrie McKay has joined Championship side Swansea City, a year after Nottingham Forest signed him from Rangers for just £500,000.

Turns it out was too good to be true after all.
Nottingham Forest fans could not believe they managed to snap up Barrie McKay from Rangers for just £500,000, especially after the winger enjoyed a dazzling start to life at the City Ground.
In his first six games for Forest, McKay scored two goals and set up four more. For half a million, they looked to have pulled off one of the best bargain deals anywhere in the Football League.

Soon after, however, it quickly became apparent why Rangers were willing to cash in on one of their most promising youngsters for such a small fee. Once McKay’s form tailed off after that bright start, the 23-year-old looked like a shadow of his former self.
He managed just three goals and three assists in his next 18 games for the club and barely featured once Aitor Karanka replaced his former Rangers manager Mark Warburton at the start of 2018.
Karanka is a coach who demands hard work and defensive contribution from his attackers; attributes that McKay appeared to be lacking.
Now, just one year after he joined for £500,000, Forest have sold him to Swansea City for the same fee, according to Wales Online. And the East Midland giants were warned about McKay right from the start.
Now they know why Rangers got rid.
