Steven Gerrard now has a worse win ratio in charge of Glasgow Rangers than Pedro Caixinha, Graeme Murty and Mark Warburton.

A rather unflattering statistic emerged this week that does not look good for Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
After a bright start to life at Ibrox, there is a slight cloud hanging over the former Liverpool skipper right now, with his short-lived managerial career enduring its first real blip. Rangers lost 1-0 against Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Saturday, either side of draws against Spartak Moscow and Kilmarnock.
As a result, Gerrard now has a worse win ratio (50 per cent) than any of his three predecessors – Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty.

But statistics only tell you so much. And plenty of Rangers fans have taken to social media to defend the 38-year-old as the pressure rises from the media and the sniping from opposition fans increases in volume.
The Gers are eight points adrift in the Scottish Premiership table right now, but their performances have improved massively for the most part since Gerrard took over. There is more pride and character among the squad these days, and even a 1-0 defeat against Celtic can be seen as a step in the right direction after the thrashings dished out to Caixinha, Warburton and co.
Their performances on the European stage, their first foray into continental competition since 2011, should be seen in a positive light, too. Rangers should not be in crisis mode just yet.
