Steven Naismith’s time at Championship side Norwich City is ending – and he is eyeing an emotional return to Rangers after his controversial Ibrox exit.

Steven Naismith is willing to go to great lengths to restore his relationship with Rangers Football Club.
The diminutive playmaker left under a cloud in the summer of 2012, joining Everton on a free after refusing to stay at Ibrox following Rangers’ demotion to the third tier.
A boyhood Gers fan, Naismith made it clear that he simply could not continue at Ibrox once the club had been taken over by Charles Green nearly six years ago, as reported by the Daily Record. But he has stated on a number of occasions since that he regrets the nature of his departure – and has made a rather eye-catching gesture to make up for it.

According to the Scottish Sun, the 31-year-old is set to leave Norwich City this month and is so desperate for a return to Ibrox that he has offered to play for Rangers for free until the end of this season.
In an era where football is controlled more than ever by wages and transfer fees, this would be quite the story.

And the majority of Rangers supporters appear willing to let bygones be bygones and welcome Naismith back home with open arms.
Though his best days are clearly behind him, Naismith still has a lot to offer with his creativity, vision and clear love of the club making him a potentially inspired addition.
