Rangers manager Graeme Murty discussed Scott Brown’s international retirement with an Old Firm clash with Celtic on the horizon.

Scott Brown has retired from international duty after 55 caps and Rangers manager Graeme Murty responded with dignity and respect when asked to reflect on the Celtic skipper’s Scotland career.
“He (Brown) has been a really, really good servant,” Murty told the Daily Record.
He’s taken fantastic care of his body and you see that the impact he has on his team is very, very big.
“So as a Scotland fan I would thank him for his work.”

Brown might not have led Scotland to any major tournaments but he has been a hugely important figure for his country over the last 12 years and deserves the accolades he received upon retirement.
Though it seems that some Rangers supporters are not too happy with the notion of an Ibrox manager lauding the Celtic captain – not least one who does not exactly have a good relationship with fans on the opposite side of the Old Firm divide.
And with the bitter rivalry set to be resumed early next month at Ibrox, a number of Rangers fans simply believe that Murty should not have taken this opportunity to comment on Brown, let alone praise his contribution.

Does Murty have a lot to learn? Or is he merely a refreshing opposite to the soundbite spitting Pedro Caixinha?
