Rangers made a bid to sign Jordan Jones from Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock in January, despite landing Brighton winger Jamie Murphy.

Jordan Jones’ fantastic form for Kilmarnock this season has not gone unnoticed.
The Northern Irish winger moved to Rugby Park on a free from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2016 but has taken his career to new heights since Steve Clarke took over earlier this season.
So much so that, according to the Daily Record, Killie refused to sell Jones for anything less than £1 million in the January transfer window. Rangers’ bid of just £350,000, then, was always unlikely to succeed.

But if the 23-year-old’s recent performances are anything to go by, Rangers should not give up just yet. Jones netted his fourth goal of the league season with a magnificent long-range strike in the thrilling 2-2 draw with Hibernian at the weekend, and Ibrox supporters have taken to Twitter to demand a new approach for the stylish number 11.
Really hope Rangers sign Jordan jones in the summer

Rangers should go back in for Jordan Jones this summer. He’s like the player Michael O’Halloran should’ve been.

Would you like to see Rangers move for Jordan Jones again in summer if he was less than 1 million. RT once voted

Just a matter of time before Jordan Jones is a Rangers player ⚪️

Don’t know, not seen enough of him to be able to say he would be an improvement on what we have already. It’s difficult to say where we need strength at moment, got a good squad, back up for Tav only position I think needs looked at.

But do Graeme Murty’s side even need him these days?
Not with Jamie Murphy likely to make his loan move from Brighton and Hove Albion permanent at the end of the season.
The Scot singed from Brighton during the January transfer window and, after a slow start, is finding form in sensational style. He’s now scored in three successive games for Rangers and showed exactly what he’s all about with a dazzling individual goal in the 2-0 win against Hearts on Saturday.
Rangers fans might want Jones at Ibrox – but keeping Murphy permanently must be the priority.
