Sheffield Wednesday youngster Sean Clare is reportedly in talks with Scottish Premiership giants Rangers and Celtic, but will he choose Gerrard or Rodgers?

Is there a more in-demand player in English football right now than Sean Clare?
According to TEAMtalk, the 21-year-old Sheffield Wednesday midfielder has offers on the table from 14 clubs with his contract due to expire. And, amid interest from Leeds, Wolves, Everton and co, it is understood that Clare has also held talks with both Celtic and Rangers in what promises to be an intriguing tussle.

But if Clare is to swap the steel city for Scotland, who should he pick? In Brendan Rodgers, Celtic boast a manager who is admired throughout Britain for his ability to turn potential into stardust.
You only need to look at the impact he has had on Kieran Tierney, Moussa Dembele and Callum McGregor to suggest that Celtic is the best option for Clare if he wants to live up to his huge potential.
Rangers, however, have a not-so-secret weapon, and he goes by the name of Steven Gerrard.

Rangers’ last two signings, Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, have both credited the 37-year-old as a major factor in why they rejected offers from elsewhere to choose Ibrox. And Clare, a 6ft 2ins powerhouse of a midfielder, could obviously learn a lot honing his trade under one of the best midfielders of his generation.
When Clare was growing up, a budding youngster with dreams of making it to the top, Gerrard was a hero for Liverpool and England.
And it will be interesting to see if the Gerrard factor once again proves crucial as Rangers go head-to-head with Celtic.
