Championship giants Aston Villa scouted Alfredo Morelos in late 2017 and the Rangers striker would be open to leaving Ibrox for England.

Alfredo Morelos will be staying at Rangers for the rest of the season. At least according to his agent in quotes reported by the Daily Record.
Beyond that, however, and the Colombian striker’s future remains up in the air. Morelos has been a pleasant surprise at Ibrox, justifying his £1 million move from Finnish side HJK Helsinki with a decent return of 12 goals in all competitions.
Unfortunately, however, the 21-year-old’s form has attracted attention from south of the border, and it seems Rangers will face a challenge keeping Morelos in Glasgow for a second season.

“I hope to keep doing very well and look for a bigger club in the Premier League at the end of the season,” Morelos said in quotes reported by the Daily Record, albeit while stressing that he was enjoying life at Rangers.
So far, there have been no clubs in England’s top flight linked with Morelos but a number of promotion chasing Championship teams are reportedly keen.
The Scottish Sun claimed in November that Aston Villa were one of five second tier teams sending scouts to watch this instinctive little goalscorer in action. And if Villa want to bring Morelos to the Midlands, it is pretty clear what they must do – earn promotion back to the Premier League.

As it stands, Steve Bruce’s side are in a good position to do just that, sitting fourth in the Championship table and just three points behind Derby County in the automatic promotion positions.
Villa cannot spend right now due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, but the huge windfall that would greet the club upon promotion could mean that the £10 million price-tag Rangers have placed on Morelos’s head is within their budget.
