Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas has been linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent times.

According to The Sun, Newcastle are looking at signing Casillas from Porto in the near year.
There has been some doubts over whether Newcastle would move for Casillas, who is now in the twilight of his career.
However, Casillas could fit in with exactly what Benitez is looking for in the January transfer window, after his comments earlier today.

The Spanish boss said: “The priority is to stay in the Premier League – not find the next best player for the next 10 years. We must make sure we have what we need to compete.
“We need to have the experience, physicality and quality to improve the team.”
Casillas may be of advancing years now, but he would bring with him a vast amount of experience to St. James’ Park.

Given their reputations, Benitez would understandably feel that Casillas would be an upgrade on either Karl Darlow or Rob Elliot, and that could be crucial in the second part of the campaign.
Newcastle are currently looking nervously over their shoulders, after a poor run of form has seen them slip down to 14th in the Premier League table.
The Magpies have failed to win any of their last six matches, with their next outing coming against Leicester City at the weekend.
