Former Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain has established himself as the number one shot-stopper for Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.

Rab Douglas believes Scott Bain has silenced his critics with a terrific run of form between the sticks at Celtic, speaking to the Courier.
Bain had been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead over the last few seasons but finally got his big break 14 months ago, joining the Scottish Premiership champions on an initial loan deal from Dundee before signing permanently when his contract at Dens Park expired in July.
And after spending the first half of the season on the bench, Bain has replaced veteran Craig Gordon as Celtic’s number one. He has started all nine of their league games since the turn of the year.
Speaking to the Courier, former Dundee and Celtic goalkeeper Douglas believes the 27-year-old deserves credit for turning his career around. As recently as late 2017, Bain was out of favour at Dundee after a fall out with manager Neil McCann after all.
“It doesn’t seem that long ago he was in the freezer at Dundee which just shows you what can happen in football,” said Douglas, who has backed Bain to take over from the retired Allan McGregor as Scotland’s number one.

“He has proved a few people wrong with a lot of cleans sheets for Celtic so good luck to him.”
Bain looks set to add a second Premiership title to his CV this season with Celtic well clear of Rangers at the top of the table. They also reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup after beating Hibernian 2-0 at Easter Road.
His best performance in Celtic colours arguably came in their 1-0 Europa League defeat at Valencia last month however.
