Queens Park Rangers were linked with a move to bring Austrian international goalkeeper Heinz Lindner to the Championship in September.

Heinz Lindner won’t be appearing between the sticks for Queens Park Rangers.
The Mail reported at the end of September that a goalkeeper with 22 caps for the Austrian national team had been lined up for a bargain move to Loftus Road. Lindner was a free agent after leaving Grasshopper Zurich in the summer and QPR manager Mark Warburton apparently offered him a trial in West London.
The trail ran cold soon after, however, and it seems that now we know why. Despite interest from the English second tier, Lindner has instead signed himself up for a potential promotion battle in Germany instead.
Lindner was unveiled by 2.Bundesliga outfit Wehen Wiesbaden recently and he is thrilled to get going in one of the most historic spa towns in Europe.

“I did not have an easy time in the summer, so I’m looking forward to the new job here. I want to try to help the team and the club by getting fully involved,” the former Eintracht Frankfurt stopper told Hessenschau after signing.
Wiesbaden have a long way to go if they want to challenge for a place in the Bundesliga, however. They are bottom of the table after nine games but successive wins in their last two games have given the fans hope of an immediate charge up the league.
Lindner made his debut in a shock 2-1 win at Stuttgart over the weekend too. QPR’s loss already looks like Wiesbaden’s gain.
