Derby County manager Phillip Cocu reportedly wants to work with one-time Eredivisie winner Bart Ramselaar again in the Championship.

PSV Eindhoven have left Derby County target Bart Ramselaar out of their squad for Tuesday night’s Champions League qualifier against FC Basel with the midfielder free to leave before the transfer window shuts, as reported by the Eindhoven Dagblad.
Fortunately, Ramselaar shouldn’t struggle to find a new club over the next few weeks.
ED reported earlier in July that new Derby manager Phillip Cocu was interested in reuniting with a midfielder who joined PSV from Utrecht in the summer of 2016.
Ramselaar, who models his game on Real Madrid playmaker Isco, enjoyed the best spell of his career under Cocu and won the 2018 Eredivisie title.
But Cocu’s departure last summer pretty much signalled the end of the 23-year-old’s career at the Philips Stadium with the Dutchman’s successor, Mark Van Bommel, freezing him out for the entirety of the 2018/19 campaign.

So it was no real surprise when PSV decided to omit Ramselaar from the midweek clash with Basel. He, along with back-up goalkeeper Luuk Koopmans, are free to leave this summer.
A reunion with Cocu could be exactly what this skilful midfielder needs. Easy on the eye and refreshingly unpredictable with the ball at his feet, Ramselaar has certainly succeeded in copying Isco’s urbane approach and he’d bring plenty of creativity and cutting edge to a Derby side now shorn of the talents of Harry Wilson and Mason Mount.
