Ronald Sobowale’s remarkable form has reportedly caught the eye of Premier League and Championship clubs but what about Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United?

With Ronald Sobowale, it is a case of low risk and potentially high reward.

At 22, the striker might have feared he’d missed the boat with his chances of a career at the top of the English game slipping away. But Sobowale’s story proves that you should never stop chasing your dreams.

Football clubs will always need prolific goal-scorers and, even if you are playing all the way down in the depths of non-league, there’s a chance your potential will shine through the mud and nettles.

According to the Mail, Sobowale’s 10 goals in 11 games for BetVictor South East League side Whyteleafe has seen him catch the eye of Premier League clubs Leicester City and Watford, plus Championship trio West Brom, Fulham and Middlesbrough, the latter having invited him on trial.

Now, Sobowale might still be a million miles away from matching the exploits of his cousin, a certain Bayern Munich superstar by the name of David Alaba, but a move to a club high up the Football League will certainly help him step out of the shadow of a world-class full-back.

This is not the first time Sobowale has attracted attention, however.

Goal reported almost a year ago that Leeds United were giving serious consideration to a striker who had played alongside Tammy Abraham in Chelsea’s youth ranks. And given how wasteful Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been since the start of the season, it would be a major surprise if Leeds are not once again hot on his heels.

Patrick Bamford’s barren run now stands at nine games while Eddie Nketiah, despite an excellent goals-per-game ratio, is yet to start a Championship game under Bielsa. Beyond them, there is a lack of real striking options available to Leeds and it would be almost negligent for the stuttering title-favourites to overlook Sobowale this time around.
