Alex Neil is reportedly a target for West Bromwich Albion after leading Preston North End to ninth in the Championship.

Alex Neil claims he has not held talks with West Bromwich Albion as reports link the Preston North End boss with a switch to The Hawthorns, while speaking to the Lancashire Post.
The Baggies need a new boss with just nine games to go in the Championship season, having controversially sacked club legend Darren Moore last week with the club sitting fourth in the table and almost guaranteed a place in the play-offs.
The Telegraph reports that Slavisa Jokanovic, David Wagner and Carlos Carvalhal are all in the frame but Neil, who has done a fine job at Preston, is under consideration, too.
The 37-year-old won promotion with Norwich back in 2015 and his Preston side play some of the most attractive football in the Championship – something that will impress West Brom fans who are keen to see the club continue Moore’s free-flowing approach.
But Neil has played down speculation so far.

There is speculation all the time. It is a case of someone saying something to a paper somewhere or someone starts a rumour, then all of a sudden it catches fire and it is all over the place,” said the former Hamilton boss.
“The one thing that is absolutely guaranteed is that I have had no discussions with anyone about anything other than Preston North End. That is it.
“West Brom need a manager at the moment. They will do what they do. I don’t have any control over that.”
Preston themselves cannot be ruled out in the race for the play-offs. They are ninth in the table but just two points adrift of Derby County in sixth as it stands.
