Brice Samba kept Nottingham Forest in it during the first half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Championship rivals Preston North End and Alex Neil is frustrated.

Preston North End boss Alex Neil was left bemoaning an inspired first-half display from Brice Samba as Nottingham Forest snatched a draw from Saturday’s City Ground clash against the Lilywhites, while speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph.
A goalkeeper signed from Caen in early August is quickly becoming a fans’ favourite on the banks of the river Trent and not just for his jovial online presence.
Samba has forced the highly-rated Manchester City loanee Aro Muric out of Sabri Lamouchi’s starting XI and followed up the 3-0 Carabao Cup thrashing of rivals Derby County with a superb display when Preston came to town.
Neil’s side dominated the first half at the City Ground but only Billy Bodin found a way past the in-form Samba. And Preston were made to pay for their profligacy in the second half as Albert Adomah secured a share of the spoils.
“Most people would see it that way (two points dropped). First half we had three or four really good chances (but) their keeper makes a couple of good saves,” said a clearly frustrated Neil.
“We get a good goal and first half, we were totally dominant. We’re frustrated.”

Nottingham Forest have been dogged by some, let’s say, ‘questionable’ recruitment in recent years but, in Lamouchi’s first season at the helm, they seem to have aced the transfer market.
Adomah, Samba Sow, Sammy Ameobi and Alfa Semedo look like terrific additions to an exciting squad so far while Samba appears to have both the bravery and the athleticism to establish himself as one of the Championship’s very best shot-stoppers.
