Charlie Adam has claimed that he’d love to return to the Scottish Premiership with Rangers after making just three Championship appearances for Stoke City.

Rangers have a decision to make with Charlie Adam once again angling for a return to Ibrox.

The Glasgow giants turned down the chance to bring the Scotland international home during the summer transfer window, The Telegraph reporting that Steven Gerrard and director of football Mark Allen eventually decided against a deal before pursuing younger targets instead.

But it seems that Adam has not given up just yet.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the 32-year-old has indicated that he would jump at the chance to re-join Rangers in the January transfer window, even on a short-term loan deal.

But the reaction from Stoke fans to Adam’s comments suggests that Rangers would perhaps be better off giving him the wide berth for the second time in a matter of months.

The fact that the former Blackpool and Liverpool playmaker has featured in just three out of a possible 17 Championship games this season speaks volumes. Adam clearly isn’t the player he was with age catching up to him.

Just to play devil’s advocate for a second, however, are the veteran’s impressive passing range and his trademark set pieces enough to convince Rangers to hand him a shock second chance?
