Scottish Premiership giants Rangers have been linked with Will Vaulks, who has fired Rotherham United into the League One play-off final at Wembley.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

With Steven Gerrard reportedly aiming to reinforce Rangers’ squad with a number of his former teammates from Liverpool and England, it remains to be seen whether the likes of Will Vaulks is still on the Gers’ radar.

The Mail stated recently that the Ibrox giants are keeping a close eye on the Rotherham United midfielder, along with Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic, as he enters the final year of his contract.

Rangers have allegedly been tracking Vaulks ever since January 2016, when he started turning heads at Falkirk, and he has since developed into a competent lower league footballer south of the border.

And, after Rotherham’s 2-0 win against Scunthorpe United on Wednesday which secured their place in the League One Play-off final, Vaulks, who scored the vital second goal with a well-taken strike, was lauded by Millers fans for another influential display in the centre of the park.

The question is, however, can Rangers attract bigger names and better players with Gerrard at the helm?

Lucas Leiva of SS Lazio gives a thumb up while his team travels to Salzburg on April 11, 2018 in Salzburg, Austria.

The Sun states that the 37-year-old is keen to reunite with Lucas Leiva, the former Liverpool fan favourite who has shone in Serie A with a high-flying Lazio side over the past season.

But if Rangers do press ahead with their interest in Vaulks, they will be signing a player who is obviously adored at his current club.
