Fans of Scottish Premiership giants Celtic believe Steven Caulker is destined to leave Dundee for Parkhead eventually.

When the news broke that Steven Caulker was heading to Scotland after QPR cancelled his contract in February, you would be forgiven for expecting the former England international to be posing alongside his former Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers.

But Caulker did not sign for Celtic. Instead, he joined Dundee on a deal until the end of next season.

And, just eight weeks into that 18-month contract, Sky Sports claims that Dundee have rejected the biggest offer the club has ever received for the talented defender.

It is understood that Rosenborg have seen a £2 million bid rejected, with the Norwegian transfer window set to shut on Wednesday. Dundee manager Neil McCann then confirmed the ‘unbelievable bid’ – but said the club will not be letting Caulker go as they aim to secure their survival in Scotland’s top flight, as reported by the Daily Record.

But it seems that Celtic fans are still confident that Caulker could be wearing green and white next season.

The 26-year-old admitted that Rodgers had tried to reunite with him last summer, as reported by Sky Sports. And despite playing just six times for Dundee since his arrival, supporters believe it is only a matter of time before the Northern Irishman gets his man.

That said, just a few months after the Jack Hendry deal, will Celtic pay big again for another Dundee centre-back?
