Wolverhampton Wanderers released striker Paul Gladon this week and he is now back in the Eredivisie.

It is fair to say Paul Gladon will not go down as one of the best signings of the Fosun era at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
A £1 million signing from Heracles during the ill-fated reign of Walter Zenga in 2016, according to the Birmingham Mail, the Dutch striker never established himself at Molineux, playing just two Championship games for the Black Country club.
So it was little surprise when the news emerged that he had been released from his contract last week, Transfermarkt pointing out that Gladon had been without a club since January 11. Although Wolves’ official website appeared to make no mention of his departure.
Fortunately for the 26-year-old, he has not had to wait long to find a new team. Gladon has returned to the Eredivisie with relegation-threatened Groningen, a move that has now been confirmed by the club’s Twitter account.
Groningen are 15th in the table, just three points off the bottom, and have scored just 18 goals in 17 matches so far this season.
It remains to be seen whether Gladon, who hit the net six times during a loan spell at former club Heracles in 2017/18, can fire his new side to safety.
