Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are reportedly set to complete the signing of Bundesliga defender Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig.

Celtic have acted very quickly to all-but secure their first signing of the January transfer window – halfway through December.
According to the Scottish Sun, RB Leipzig defender Marvin Compper has jetted into Scotland to put the finishing touches on his mid-season move to the league leaders. It is understood that the 32-year-old centre-back, who will cost around £1 million according to the BBC, will be confirmed as a Celtic player in the next 24 hours.
And just to dispel any doubt about whether or not the deal is about to happen, the SNS Group has posted a photo on Twitter of Compper arriving in Edinburgh airport on Tuesday afternoon.
The one-time German international looks pretty happy to be committing his next two-and-a-half years to the Scottish champions, don’t you think.
On the back of Celtic’s 4-0 thrashing at Hearts on Sunday, a result which brought a brutal end to their 69-game unbeaten run on domestic soil, you’d think supporters would welcome a new centre-back with open arms.
But the Parkhead faithful appear yet to be convinced by Compper, who has played just 91 minutes of football for Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season.

Who knows how much Compper has to offer at the age of 32? And, to make the deal a little more dubious, he will not be able to play for Celtic in their Europa League clash with Zenit in the New Year due to his continental exploits with Leipzig.
