Taiwo Awoniyi is starring on loan in Belgium with Royal Excel Mouscron from Liverpool.
Taiwo Awoniyi simply cannot stop scoring.
The Liverpool loanee endured a miserable spell at Genk in the first half of the season, failing to score in 15 appearances for the Jupiler League side.
But a January switch from Genk to Mouscron could hardly have gone better.
Awoniyi could not hit a barn door with a banjo between August and January, but his form since then has been outstanding.
He has scored seven goals in just eight games for Mouscron, finding the net in five successive Jupiler League games.
On this sort of form, surely Liverpool should have no plans of letting the 21-year-old go.
Goal reported last week that Awoniyi was attracting interest from all over the continent with Schalke just one club who have expressed an interest in luring the Nigerian to the Bundesliga.
Awoniyi is yet to obtain a work permit and it is understood that Liverpool would demand £10 million plus if they decide to cash in. But, with Awoniyi in remarkable goal-scoring form, he has surely done enough to convince Jurgen Klopp that he could be worth the wait.
