Championship duo Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have been tracking Peterborough United’s League One hotshots Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison.

Back in the winter, Leeds United were linked with a double deal for Peterborough United’s attacking duo Marcus Maddison and Jack Marriott (above).
The Peterborough Evening Telegraph stated that the winger and the striker were on the radar of the Elland Road giants, and Posh’s chief executive Barry Fry admitted that the League One side had already turned down offers of £2 million each from a Championship club, before announcing that Maddison and Marriott wouldn’t be going anywhere for less than £10 million combined.

And, with the summer transfer window creaking open, Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has responded to a Leeds fan asking whether he is now ready to let Maddison and Marriott leave for Elland Road.
Now, Leeds could do with a little more cutting edge in attack and, although Marriott and Maddison have never played above League One level, their statistics this season are frightening. Marriott has 32 goals in all competitions while Maddison has 23 assists to his name.

And while MacAnthony is not ready to let Leeds sign the prolific duo just yet, it remains to be seen if he changes his mind should the Championship giants decide to meet the £10 million asking price.
Nottingham Forest have also been credited with an interest in the London Road stars. The Mail stated last month that a Forest side without a prolific goalscorer looking at Marriott and The Mirror (8th April, page 51) claimed their interest in Maddison too.
