Jason Cummings has struggled recently in League One since leaving Championship outfit Nottingham Forest on loan but will Martin O’Neill offer a fresh start?

Where on earth does Jason Cummings go from here?
The 23-year-old is on loan at Peterborough United from Nottingham Forest and, after a bright start to life under Steve Evans, his form has deserted him in recent weeks. Cummings has not completed 90 minutes since September 1.
As a result, the striker’s future is up in the air with Peterborough chairman Darragh McAnthony confirming that Forest could re-call him from London Road and send him elsewhere. Though, despite some unconvincing displays, it seems there is still plenty of interest.
“If a club come in for him, Forest can recall him & get him out playing. There are multiple enquiries. Wish him well,” McAnthony wrote on Twitter.
It seems that one of those enquires is likely to have come from Hibernian, the club where Cummings made his name before joining Forest for £1 million in the summer of 2017 (the Post).

Hibs boss Neil Lennon admitted to the Scottish Sun at the weekend that the Edinburgh-born striker would fit into his plans at Easter Road. Cummings became the first Hibernian player in over 50 years to score 20+ goals in three successive seasons in the 2016/17 campaign.
Although it will be interesting to see if he is offered a fresh start at Nottingham Forest, with Martin O’Neill arriving at the City Ground to replace Aitor Karanka.
