Dean Smith’s Premier League newcomers Aston Villa reportedly want another Club Brugge player after signing Wesley Moraes.

Peter Bosz knows Marvelous Nakamba better than most.

These days, the Zimbabwean international cannot move for speculation surrounding his future. Aston Villa have emerged as a potential destination in recent weeks, after paying a club-record fee to land his former Club Brugge team-mate Wesley Moraes.

A potential £6 million move is still uncertain, however, with HLN claiming this week that Nakamba has been left frustrated about the fact that a mooted switch to the Premier League, Villa Park in particular, is yet to materialise.

Though such gushing praise from the former Borussia Dortmund and Ajax coach Bosz, who is now back in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, should perhaps convince the newly-promoted Villans to make an extra effort to get their man.

“Nakamba is a boy who brings a lot of energy into the game. He is strong and a winner,” Bosz, who coached Nakamba at Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem, told BILD.

“With his honest and aggressive style of play, he would fit well in England.”

He certainly would. Nakamba is an old-school ball-winning midfielder, not too dissimilar to N’Golo Kante. And he’d offer plenty of steel and energy in an Aston Villa midfield more renowned for its inspiration than its perspiration. Bosz knows best.

BILD adds that Bundesliga newcomers Cologne are interested too, though his price-tag could prove to be a little rich for the Billy Goats. The door is open for Aston Villa, then, if they want to sign a second Brugge player in the space of a few weeks.
