Premier League side Everton are reportedly targeting Borussia Monchengladbach’s Bundesliga ace Denis Zakaria – who idolises Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Everton have a number of midfield specialists a la ball-winner Idrissa Gana Gueye and creator Gylfi Sigurdsson. But they are lacking an energetic, dynamic jack of all trades.
Which perhaps explains why The Toffees have been linked with the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Aaron Mooy and Mathias Vecino over recent weeks.
And The Mirror has now placed a new name on Everton’s radar – Denis Zakaria. It is understood that new manager Marco Silva wants more young talent at Goodison Park amid the expected arrival of Richarlison, and 21-year-old Zakaria is one player he was been watching.
The Swiss international has had a superb breakthrough year after joining Borussia Monchengladbach from Young Boys last summer for £8million. But what should Everton fans expect from Zakaria?
Rangy, quick across the ground and blessed with superb skill and technical ability that perhaps belies his size, it is no surprise that Zakaria has been likened to Paul Pogba and Patrick Vieira, as reported by the Bundesliga’s official website.

Zakaria himself has admitted that he bases his game on that of the £89million World Cup winner Pogba and the similarities are certainly clear to see.
So if an Everton side who were so often toothless and passive last season want a midfielder capable of grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck, Zakaria might be the man for the job.
