Queens Park Rangers have won two of their last three Championship games under Steve McClaren.

Steve McClaren is unveiled as new manager of Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on May 21, 2018 in London, England.

Steve McClaren could hardly have endured a worse start to life at Queens Park Rangers.

The former England manager lost his first four Championship games in charge of the Loftus Road outfit, including a humiliating 7-1 battering away at West Bromwich Albion.

But since signing both Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed, the duo arriving on loan from Burnley and Brighton respectively, QPR have turned their season around in impressive style.

McClaren’s rejuvenated side have picked up seven points out of a possible nine with Wells and Hemed in the team, including a 2-1 away win at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Paul Parker, who represented QPR between 1987 and 1991 before joining Manchester United, has told Jim White on talkSPORT (19 September, 12:00pm) that the addition of the two Premier League strikers has had a major impact on QPR.

“I really, really hope (QPR continue their upturn in form). They’ve gone and got themselves two forwards which has helped because they’ve been poor up front in recent seasons,” the former England full-back admitted.

“They haven’t had a consistent centre forward for years.”

Hemed has scored once in three starts for QPR, the only goal in a 1-0 victory against Wigan. Wells (below) has not hit the back of the net but did impress away at Bolton at the weekend, setting up one of QPR’s two goals while adding some pace in attack.
