Jordan Graham was discared by Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers but hasn’t found life any easier with Ipswich in the Championship.

The writing was on the wall for Jordan Graham once Paul Lambert was appointed as Ipswich Town manager in October, the Scot arriving at Portman Road to replace Paul Hurst.

After all, Graham has worked under Lambert at both Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers but was clearly not the experienced coach’s cup of tea. And, somewhat inevitably, the winger’s loan spell at Ipswich from Wolves is set to come to an end just a few weeks after Lambert arrived in Anglia.

According to TWTD, Ipswich are planning to cancel Graham’s deal in January after just four Championship appearances. The 23-year-old is already training with League One strugglers Oxford United ahead of a potential move to the Kassam Stadium.

“Jordan was only a young kid when I was Aston Villa when I was there and he was out injured a lot at Wolves,” Lambert told the TWTD, explaining his thinking around the Graham situation.

“He came back in the last few weeks but was never a problem. I just pick a team that I think can win games and a group that I think I can mould the way I want to mould them.

“Yes, (he’s likely to leave) because we’ve a lot of players here. We’ve got young players here who are coming through and they’ve got to have a chance to progress as well.”

Graham has been with Wolves since 2015 but has fallen well down the pecking order since Fosun International completed their takeover two years ago, leading the arrivals of Ivan Cavaleiro, Helder Costa, Diogo Jota and co.

The speedy forward has a contract at Molineux until 2020 but it seems unlikely that he’ll last that long.
