Pablo Fornals was left blown away by Aaron Cresswell’s stunning free-kick during West Ham United’s 2-0 Premier League win against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, speaking to the club’s official website.

With less than ten minutes remaining and the game on a knife edge at the London Stadium, left-back Cresswell stepped up to fire a glorious 25-yard strike into the top corner of David Ge Gea’s net.

The former England international only started because of Arthur Masuaku’s contentious red card against Aston Villa last week but it’s fair to stay he grabbed his opportunity with both hands, sealing a famous win for The Hammers with his first goal in 15 months.

And Fornals, who moved to English football this summer after a fine season in La Liga with Villarreal, was stunned by the quality of West Ham’s second choice left-back.

“It was a great afternoon,” said the Spanish playmaker, clearly enthused by a win which boosts West Ham’s hopes of a top six finish. Cresswell from the free-kick was amazing.”

Andriy Yarmolenko scored West Ham’s other goal of the game with Manuel Pellegrini’s side moving up to fifth in the embryonic Premier League table, three points clear of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s erratic Manchester United.

And West Ham should be even more impressive once Fornals, with his perfectly weighted through balls and ability to float between the lines, finds his footing in English football.
