West Ham United and Fulham both reportedly tried and failed to bring Fornals to the Premier League and now the Villarreal star is a target for Napoli.

Back in November, AS claims that Villarreal ace Pablo Fornals had turned down a move to Fulham or West Ham United.
A highly-rated midfielder who has stood out in a struggling side this season, the report added that Fornals had no interest in leaving the Castellon Coast for a club at the wrong end of the Premier League like Fulham or stuck in mid-table like West Ham.
Fornals, it seemed, was waiting for a better offer from a bigger club.
And he could now have got his wish. According to Mundo Deportivo, Napoli have agreed to trigger his £26 million release clause and the former Malaga schemer is now expected to make a big-money move to the Stadio San Paulo.
With all due respect to West Ham and Fulham, Fornals appears to have been justified in biding his time.

Napoli are second in the Serie A table right now and are well placed to qualify for the Champions League next season, giving Fornals a chance to play in Europe’s premiere club competition for the first time.
He will also work under the legendary Carlo Ancelotti, a manager who has turned so many talented midfielders into genuinely world class performers.
