Marcus Browne is on loan at Oxford United from Premier League outfit West Ham United and has scored eight goals under Karl Robinson.
Oxford United manager Karl Robinson has admitted that he would love to sign Marcus Browne on a permanent deal this summer, as reported by the Oxford Mail.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan at the Kassam Stadium from Premier League outfit West Ham United. And he has caught the eye with his ability to produce something out of nothing, managing eight goals and five assists for the third tier outfit.
Back in November, Oxford teammate Cameron Brannagan described Browne as ‘different class’ after he inspired a 4-2 thrashing of Rochdale (Oxford Mail).
And it seems that Robinson shares his admiration for one of the most exciting youngsters to emerge out of West Ham in many a year.
“I’d like to take him on a permanent, that would be the ideal,” Robinson said.
“I’m sure his agent would disagree that we could afford him, but we believe we can.”
The fans would have plenty to say if West Ham decided to cash in on the London-born midfielder, who signed his most recent contract with the club back in 2017.
The Hammers have one of the most famous and successful academies in English football and Browne appears to have all the natural talent to follow in the footsteps of Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole and co.
