Everton are reportedly interested in three Manchester United defenders – Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling.

Everton certainly appear to be hedging their bets as they aim to add a defender or two to their squad before the transfer window slams shut this week.
Marcos Rojo has been heavily linked with a £30 million move to Goodison Park in recent days. But TEAMtalk are reporting that the Toffees would happily take one of two other Manchester United centre-backs if the Old Trafford club are unwilling to part with the Argentine international.
It is claimed that they would be willing to take Victor Lindelof on loan or sign Chris Smalling on a permanent basis. And it is links with the latter that have got fans talking on social media.

Smalling has been almost relentlessly criticised by some sections of the United support of late and it is fair to say that the now 28-year-old certainly hasn’t developed into the top class centre-half may had expected in his younger days.
But the former Fulham talent has still got 31 England caps to his name, not to mention two Premier League titles and the Manchester United Player’s Player of the Year award as recently as 2016. Smalling, to put it bluntly, may still be better than who Everton have already.
