Aston Villa have reportedly agreed to sign FC Ingolstadt goalkeeper Orjan Nyland as the replacement for Sam Johnstone.

It has been well documented since Friday, that Aston Villa are close to signing the Norwegian international goalkeeper Orjan Nyland as the replacement for Sam Johnstone.
The Villans have needed a new number one ever since it became clear that Johnstone would not be returning following the expiry of his loan spell at Manchester United.
The highly-rated shot-stopper has since joined Villa’s bitter Midland rivals West Bromwich Albion.
But the Daily Star claimed before the weekend that Aston Villa had identified the 27-capped Nyland as the man to fill the void and it seems that a deal is edging ever closer.

The Birmingham Mail is reporting on Tuesday that Nyland has agreed to sign for Villa from German second tier outfit FC Ingolstadt. And it is understood that he will cost just £1 million, which is pretty decent value for a ‘keeper who has played regularly at international level not to mention the Bundesliga.
Nyland was not Ingolstadt’s first choice during their two seasons in the top flight between 2015 and 2017 but he equipped himself well and did not look out of place against stellar opposition. So £1 million could prove to be a real bargain.
Although Nyland has his work cut out stepping into Johnstone’s shoes.
