Marco Reus has now warned Rangers that Borussia Dortmund will ‘do everything’ they can to win the second-leg of their Europa League tie on Thursday night, via quotes by Kicker.

The Bundesliga giants visit Ibrox looking to overturn a 4-2 first-leg deficit in their knockout round play-off. Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side proved a surprise package in Germany last week to stun Marco Rose’s men. But UEFA scrapping the away goal rule keeps the tie alive.

James Tavernier got Rangers off to the ideal start at Borussia Dortmund after converting his late first-half penalty. Alfredo Morelos then upped the ante by scoring three-minutes later, while John Lundstram kept the Gers’ momentum up by firing home in the 49th-minute.

Jude Bellingham and Raphael Guerreiro kept BVB in the tie after responding to Lundstram and Dan-Axel Zagadou’s own goal. Zagadou had a night to forget at the Westfalenstadion, having also given away the penalty. He will now miss the Ibrox clash with a muscle injury.

Zagadou sustained the issue as Borussia Dortmund bounced back in perfect fashion after thrashing Borussia Monchengladbach 6-0 on Sunday. Reus scored twice during the North Rhine-Westphalia derby, while also hitting a hat-trick of assists to pull the strings for Rose.

Reus warns Rangers of ‘big’ Borussia Dortmund plans in ‘do-or-die’ clash

Borussia Dortmund captain Reus is now focused on overturning their deficit to Rangers and reaching the Europa League last 16. He knows BVB must go all-out for the win, but believes Rose’s side have a plan that can secure the result they need in Glasgow on Thursday night.

“We don’t have to motivate ourselves,” he stated. “We know what’s at stake. It’s a do-or-die game. And we have big plans, we’ll do everything we can to make Thursday our day.”

Rangers can reach the last 16 of the Europa League by avoiding a defeat of two or more goals to Borussia Dortmund. A two-goal margin in BVB’s favour will send the tie to extra-time. Either side will learn their next opponent in Friday’s draw set to be held at 11:00.
