Young Spurs duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josh Onomah are on loan at Championship duo Ipswich Town and Aston Villa respectively.

There are two Tottenham Hotspur youngsters earning rather differing reviews during their current loan spells in the Championship.

Aston Villa fans have been getting on the back of the England U20 World Cup winner Josh Onomah for some time now and his most recent display in the 1-1 draw against Preston North End a week ago once again did little to justify his continued inclusion in Steve Bruce’s side.

The 20-year-old has started 17 Championship games for Villa this season, but with some fans lambasting his inability to influence the game and others going as far as to question his effort and commitment to one of England’s most historic clubs, the chances of Onomah forcing his way into Spurs’ first-team next season look slim.

That is in comparison to Cameron Carter-Vickers, who could hardly be making a more different impression at Ipswich Town.

After spending the first half of the campaign at Sheffield United, the Southend-born USA international switched to Portman Road in January and that looks an inspired decision already.

Composed on the ball and strong in the tackle, Carter-Vickers has been absolutely immense for Mick McCarthy’s side in his seven appearances and Ipswich have conceded just five goals in that time too.

On this evidence, he is aceing his audition and Ipswich fans believe he should have no trouble walking into Spurs’ first-team next season.

Onomah, take note. This is how you should spend a loan spell.
