St Etienne’s Ligue 1 midfielder Ole Selnaes was linked with a move to Fulham during the summer transfer window.

Fulham enjoyed arguably the most impressive transfer window of any side in the Premier League this summer.
Despite only being promoted in May, the Cottagers spent over £100 million on new players, including Aleksandr Mitrovic, Jean Michel Seri, Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa and Andre Schurrle.
One player they did not manage to nab, however, is St Etienne midfielder Ole Selnaes.
The Norwegian international was understood to have been identified as a competitor for Kevin McDonald for a place at the base of Fulham’s midfield. But TEAMtalk claimed that the Cottagers failed in a loan bid for the 24-year-old.
And Selnaes himself has now opened up on the Fulham rumours, admitting that he has been the subject of interest from the West London club.
“(Fulham) have been following me for a while, even though nobody came to talk to me directly,” Selnaes told But!.

“I did not receive a proposal. My job is here. I am focused on Saint-Etienne. I am in the best place to develop myself, to flourish. I feel good here. I am focused on my season.”
The combative midfielder, however, admitted that he had an interest in moving to England in the future, perhaps opening the door for Fulham in 2019.
“We’ll see. Maybe one day I’ll be strong enough to play in a top club. I’m lucky to be in a big club. We’ll see if one day I can be in an even bigger club,” he added.
Selnaes started 23 Ligue 1 games for St Etienne last season, picking up nine yellow cards along the way.
