Ruben Loftus-Cheek is heading back to Chelsea after a fine spell at Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, but not if Everton fans can help it.

We have been hearing for years now just what a talent Chelsea had on their hands in Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
It is only now, however, that we are witnessing this 22-year-old’s considerable qualities on a regular basis. After spending far too long on the fringes of Chelsea’s first-team, Loftus-Cheek moved to Crystal Palace on loan last summer and proved what everyone at Stamford Bridge had been saying – the Lewisham-born maestro is a player with huge potential.

Loftus-Cheek stared in his 24 Premier League games for Crystal Palace and it is not only Eagles fans who would love to sign him this summer should Chelsea decide to let him leave again.
It seems that Loftus-Cheek, who was perhaps the most surprising pick in England’s World Cup squad, has a fair few admirers at Goodison Park, too.

Everton under-performed in 2017/18 and, although midfield looked like the strongest area of their squad on paper, that did not appear to be the case in reality with Morgan Schneiderlin and Tom Davies in particular enduring difficult seasons.
Loftus-Cheek, on recent form, would walk into the Toffees’ engine room with his vision, ability to drive forward from deep and maturity beyond his tender years marking him out as the sort of talent English football could do with a lot more of.
