Scottish Premiership giants Rangers reportedly wanted Mark Beevers and Curtis Tilt but another Championship defender, Joe Worrall, is now being linked

Rangers have been linked with a number of centre-backs in recent weeks. Despite signing Connor Goldson and the impressive Nikola Katic in the summer, it seems that Steven Gerrard wants one more option in the centre of his defence and has been scouring the market south of the border.
The 21-year-old might not have featured in a single minute of Forest’s Championship season and could even be the club’s fifth choice centre-back but there is no doubting his potential.
Just last year, Worrall captained England to glory at the prestigious Toulon Tournament and, as recently as January, he starred in a 4-2 FA Cup win against Arsenal and was the subject of a £10 million bid from Burnley, as reported by The Sun.
So Rangers fans should be feeling far more positive about his potential arrival than the likes of Curtis Tilt or Mark Beevers.

The Scottish Sun reported that Rangers wanted Blackpool’s £1 million-rated Tilt in July, a 26-year-old who has only ever played one season of professional football after moving to Bloomfield Road from Wrexham.
Beevers, in contrast, is a far more experienced, Championship level defender but Bolton fans were very critical of him when he was linked with Rangers and that spoke volumes.
Worrall, then, seems like a real step up from Rangers’ previous targets.
