Nottingham Forest are looking to trim a bloated squad and the Championship club could reportedly get rid of Ben Watson and Liam Bridcutt.

Nottingham Forest have one of the most bloated squads in all of English football, so it is no surprise that Aitor Karanka is keen to trim the fat in the January transfer window.
With no shortage of central midfielders at Karanka’s disposal, The Post reports that Liam Bridcutt and Ben Watson could be entering their final few weeks at the City Ground.
Watson only arrived at Forest in February, signing a two-and-half year deal after being released by Watford. He had been a regular starter in the first few weeks of the season but has fallen out of favour of late, failing to feature in any of Forest’s last four Championship games.

At the age of 33, Watson is surely past his best. So it seems the Forest faithful have already decided that his departure is the best thing for all parties.
The response to Bridcutt’s potential departure however appears decidedly more mixed. The former Brighton and Leeds ankle-biter has been left out of Forest’s last nine games and has made just one league appearance all season, but it seems some fans think the experienced midfielder has plenty more to offer.
