Karim Ansarifard could finally be on his way to the City Ground with Championship giants Nottingham Forest edging closer to a deal.

After two months of on again, off again speculation, it seems that Karim Ansarifard to Nottingham Forest could actually happen after all.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis knows the Iran international striker well from his 2017/18 season at Olympiakos, where he scored 18 goals no less, and Ansarifard has been expected to join the Greek honcho’s other club after being released from his contract in September.
But, eight weeks after those links with the City Ground first emerged, The Mail reports that Forest have stumbled across a breakthrough.
It is claimed that the East Midland giants hope to finally gain clearance for a work permit to bring the 28-year-old to England without spending a penny. And, in quotes reported by the BBC, manager Aitor Karanka suggested that a deal was indeed close.

“I know the club is doing well,” said Karanka. “If one day we can announce something I’ll be really happy.”
Now, what do Forest fans think about this? Another goalscorer wouldn’t go amiss for a side who have drawn far too many games this season, particularly with Lewis Grabban looking rather inconsistent and El Arabi Hillel Soudani suffering a few injury problems.
And while some are understandably concerned about the addition of a player who is something of an unknown on British shores, this feels like a win-win situation on paper.
