Dimitar Evtimov is on loan at Burton Albion from Nottingham Forest and helped knock his parent club out of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

As if losing and being outplayed by League One Burton Albion was not bad enough, the presence of Dimitar Evtimov between the sticks for the victorious Brewers made Nottingham Forest’s EFL Cup defeat at the Pirelli Stadium even harder to take.
An own goal from Saidy Janko, plus strikes from Scott Fraser and Jake Hesketh, consigned Forest to a 3-2 fourth round exit away at their third tier opponents.
Evtimov played a major role in the shock win – against his parent club. The Bulgarian has spent six years at Forest and is currently on a two-month loan at Burton.

And the seldom-seen goalkeeper certainly made a point against the club that pays his wages, making a number of impressive stops and providing the platform for a famous Burton victory.
The 25-year-old might have made just two league appearances in Forest colours, but that does not mean he is relishing in his parent club’s demise. Evtimov took to Twitter after the game to post a message which has only boosted his standing in the eyes of Forest supporters.
It remains to be seen whether Evtimov has any sort of a future at the City Ground, with Costel Pantilimon and Luke Steele already available to Aitor Karanka.
