Nottingham Forest need a new central midfielder, and Harrison Reed has just enjoyed an excellent Championship campaign with Norwich City.

Harrison Reed was a bright light in a difficult season for Norwich City, and it is about time his form at Carrow Road attracts the attention of a Championship rival.
The energetic midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Norwich from Premier League outfit Southampton, could be an ideal addition for Nottingham Forest over the summer with David Vaughan, Chris Cohen and Jack Colback all set to leave the City Ground.
Reed was a regular in the centre of the park for Norwich head coach Daniel Farke, starting 36 league games, scoring one goal and producing three assists.

It’s not the end product, however, but his ability to win back possession and start attacks with his composed and intelligent distribution that would make him a fine signing for Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest – especially with a permanent deal for Colback likely to prove difficult due to the Newcastle man’s wages.
23-year-old Reed is one of a number of players who have emerged from the famed Southampton academy in recent seasons. But, unlike Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Callum Chambers and their like, Worthing-born Reed never managed to establish himself in The Saints’ first team.

Despite making his debut back in August 2013, Reed made just 17 league appearances for the South Coast club, before joining Norwich last summer. And it remains to be seen whether or not the former England U20 international has a future at St Mary’s under Mark Hughes. If not, Nottingham Forest should be waiting to pounce.
